A Simple but Meaningful Page – Blog Lesson Learned

As a brand new blogger I hope you will forgive the fact that I had planned my next post and put it on my first post, but I have not gotten that post ready and I didn’t want to leave the blog dormant waiting to get to putting the photos together for that post so……I switched it up, lesson learned – no pre-planning for me in the blogging world.  Ladies and Gents, you will just have to bare with me and take each day as it comes.  Hey, that sounds like it might be fun anyway.  It will be anyone’s guess.

Here is an absolutely simple, simple, not fancy, very plain Jane page that is all about the story.  The story of my man!  One of the most important parts of Keeping Those Memories is the journalling, and the part I struggle most with.  I think because I really got caught up with the “pretty page” idea right from the beginning.  So I struggle to do both. And by pretty, I still mean simple and easy, just presenting the photo in more than a photo sleeve as I once did way back when.

I had this page made probably 3 ago (I can tell by the photos which were around that time), but I never could sit down and write the jounalling, but I refused to call it done until those words were written.  I attended a Creative Memories Suite Retreat a couple of weekends ago and there while in the Hotel Suite I was able to have the “quite” time I needed to collect by thoughts and get the words down (I actually wrote a poem for this journalling).  The corner paper is DCWV (one of my favorite paper lines), and the My Love with text journalling lines worked just perfect as a title and a place to MAKE ME sit down and journal.

I keep my in progress work in Creative Options organizers labeled with sticky notes so I can change them often.  This system has worked for me for quite some time now.  Because I have a busy schedule, I often have to leave projects unfinished only to return to them later.  This system sure helps me keep everything together for my series (which you will hear a lot about in the future) scrapping projects, as well as by what I need to finish the layout.  Sometimes it may be journalling, or a die cut I need to cut on my Pazzles electronic die cutter.  I might only have a few minutes to work on scrapping and I can just grab one of the organizers and work on what might fit in the available time.

I hope you will make a simple page that focuses on the meaning.  Let’s not get hung up on the design elements all the time.  Lets play with pretty paper, lets let the photos speak for themselves, and lets remember to document the moment, the feeling, or a story and let’s get a scrapbook page done.  Lets share our work with each other put a link to your page in your comment.
